Coasteering is becoming more popular as each year goes by. It is essential that any coasteering instructor has the technical knowledge to ensure any coasteering session that they lead or assist a coasteering leader with is safe.
The international Coasteering Association (ICA) has been set up by EBO and like minded coasteering companies to improve the safety of coasteering and through experience has adopted a 'best practice' approach to coasteering
The pre requisites to the ICA Coasteering Assistant Group Guide Training Course are:
A recognised surf lifesaving qualification such as NARS or RLSS and a recognised first aid certificate.
ICA Coasteering Assistant Group Guide
The EBO Coasteering Assistant Group Guide Instructor Course is 6 days long and covers the following:
Coasteering safety equipment
Planning a coasteer
Briefing the coasteering group prior to the coasteer
Coasteering group management
Enrty and exit techniques
Coasteering Risk Assessments, Coasteering Normal Operating procedures, Coasteering Emergency Action Procedures.
Caosteering basic first aid
Final coasteering exercise and assessment

The EBO Coasteering Group Leader Course is 2 days long and covers:
Condensed topics covered in the assistant group guide course and 4 assessed lead coasteers,
